For readers in Ontario

Readers in Ontario land here. The list below holds registered operators and nothing else, it names no offer anywhere, and the standard that makes that necessary is set out underneath.

What this page does not say, and why that is the point of it

This page carries the operators registered in Ontario that we work with, and it carries no offer at all: no figure, no number of "free spins", no mention that a "bonus" exists for any of them. The omission is deliberate, and it comes from a standard rather than from our own caution (Standard 2.05, in the document the Registrar publishes).

Standard 2.05 of the Registrar's Standards for Internet Gaming prohibits advertising and marketing materials that communicate "gambling inducements, bonuses and credits", except on an operator's own gaming site and through "direct advertising and marketing" to a player who has given active consent (the phrase is the standard's own). The guidance attached to the standard is explicit that the prohibition covers all public advertising, including the targeted and the algorithm-driven kind, which is the kind an affiliate page is.

We have therefore emptied the third box on every card below; it now says only where an offer would be found, if one exists at all, which is on the operator's own "gaming site" and nowhere else, behind the operator's own door. The operators are free to make offers and we are not free to repeat them (the prohibition binds the advertising, not the product), and a page that dressed the prohibition up as editorial restraint would be telling you something false about its own motives.

A second standard cuts the same way from the other direction. Standard 2.06 forbids describing an inducement as "free" when it is not and as "risk-free" when the player can still lose, and it requires the material conditions to appear at the offer's first presentation on the gaming site, which is one more reason those conditions belong there and not on a page like this one.

A third rule explains why affiliates in this province behave unlike affiliates anywhere else. Standard 1.21 obliges a registered operator not to use an affiliate that also promotes unregistered sites open to players in Ontario, so a site that carried both would cost its partners their contracts (the cost lands on the operator, which is why operators enforce it) rather than merely embarrassing itself.

The one thing on this page that is not about bonuses

The four boxes still carry the demo, the sign-up condition and the tournaments, because none of those is an inducement: they describe how a lobby behaves, not what it is offering you. On the question of demo play itself the province is silent, and that silence is worth noticing. A reading of the whole standards document turns up no occurrence of "practice play", "demonstration", "free play" or "demo", and no obligation to verify an age before a free game opens.

Ad disclosure: some casino links are affiliate links; we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never affects what we write about a casino, and it never changes the four boxes, which carry what we could verify and nothing else. 18+.

The whole register, not only the part that pays us

iGaming Ontario publishes the list of every registered site, and it is the list worth reading: it contains the operators this page does not carry, and the reader can check it without us. We publish the address rather than a copy, because a copy of a register is out of date the day the register changes. The directory the authority publishes counted 49 operators and 84 sites at 1 September 2026, the date the page itself declares.

What the province does require, which is more interesting than what it forbids

Where Ontario does speak about free games, it speaks about their mathematics rather than about their availability. Standard 2.15 requires that free-to-play games "shall have the same odds of winning as games played for money", and that "the denomination of each credit" be displayed clearly on the game screens. the first of those is a guarantee that two European jurisdictions also give (Germany and Sweden, each in its own way) and that most of the world does not.

That requirement is the reason a demo played on a registered site here is worth more than a demo played almost anywhere else. It is worth saying plainly, because nobody advertises it. A player trying a slot on a registered site is seeing the real distribution of outcomes rather than a sweetened one; the standard is enforceable against the operator instead of being merely promised by it (which is the difference between a rule and a reassurance).

The second thing the province requires is a "registration" that anybody can check. Every operator on this page appears in the public directory that iGaming Ontario publishes, with the company behind the brand and the sites it is allowed to run, and the directory counted forty-nine operators and eighty-four sites at the date it declares for itself (1 September 2026, on the page's own line).

A reader who wants to be certain of an operator should start from that directory rather than from a page like this one. The directory belongs to the authority and lists every "registered" site (ours and not ours), while this page belongs to us. We carry a subset of the register, chosen by a commercial relationship; the register carries everything, including the operators that have never heard of us.

The age, the self-exclusion and the help

The minimum age in Ontario is nineteen, a year higher than in Alberta and than in most of the markets on this site, and it binds the registered sites as a condition of their own registration ("19+" is the line you will see on every card above). The standards address minors from the advertising side rather than by gating the free games: no cartoons, no influencers who appeal primarily to children, and nothing on a hoarding beside a school.

BetGuard is the centralised self-exclusion scheme for the province, in service since May 2026. A single registration applies across the whole registered market, which is the property that makes a central scheme worth more than an exclusion taken operator by operator (one form, every registered site). ConnexOntario is on 1-866-531-2600 (free, confidential, and open at any hour of any day).

One line on the limit of a free session, which belongs here as much as the standards do. A free session on a registered site will show you the real odds, published and enforceable, and it will still tell you nothing whatever about the experience of losing money, because the single thing it has taken away is the part of the game that does the teaching!
